The History of Schnable Networks

Schnable Networks started out in March of 2005, as a modest personal website. I was twelve years old when I created it. The original name of our website was "The Schnable Site", most popular among it's several visitors for it's infamous introduction splash page, boasting "the world's fastest growing website". [1] In its lifespan, it got almost three hundred hits, but I would have to say many of them were from me. The original Schnable Site was in reality, the least organized, least focused, website on the face of the planet. I had a lot of fun with it, but it got to be too much. It was forty megabytes of old email jokes, health tips, news headlines, general downloads, and much more useless nothingness.
About one year later, I scrapped the original project and tried again. This time, I came up with a different name, KT Networks, which meant Kirk's Technological Networks. That name didn't last long, since I didn't like the T in it. Shortly, I changed the name to kNET, keeping only the semi-active forum community. Between the time of Schnable Site and KTNet, a friend of mine bought me the Schnable.net domain, which, after the name change, sat without a website and with only an email address for a few months.
With the collapse of HostingSpace.org's free hosting services, the original kNET Forums was lost forever. The forums were recreated, but they were just never the same. The community had fallen, and there was nothing I could do. So, I made a few other partial websites that never got finished, and with that, came this design. Schnable Networks is a name I have had in the back of my mind for some time now, but it's something I finally created.
On September 30, 2006, the Schnable Networks you are looking at right now was created, as an interlinking element between several of my other websites. While it may not provide a lot of unique content anymore, I find that it may be that which makes it great. How will this website compare to its predicessors? Will it be around forever, or just for a few weeks? This is just another page in the history book, right? Will the legacy of Schnable Networks live on? Turn the page.
